The A+ Certification Program was created by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) and is co-sponsored by many of the leaders in the computer industry. It is an internationally recognized certification program that, upon successful completion, certifies a benchmark of entry-level competency for computer service technicians.

This A+ Certification: Concepts and Practices training course offers an up-to-date comprehensive overview of the knowledge needed to prepare to study for the revised A+ exams: A+ Core Hardware Exam (220-201) and A+ DOS/Windows Service Technician Exam (220-202). Expertise in these areas will come from experience and continued study. Topics include improved hardware Core content including wireless material; updated microprocessor and system board material; an in-depth coverage of newer DSL/Cable Modem/Wireless Internet connectivity technologies; all the new objectives in the exam; software Core content focuses on Windows XP Professional operating system; full four-color format with updated illustrations for even greater clarity with graphically illustrated concepts; critical Thinking Skill challenges so students can apply what they are learning to scenario-based situations that require more than a single word or sentence to evaluate; hands-on lab exercises with real computer service activities; over 50 diagrams and screen dumps in each chapter and multiple-choice and open-ended review questions in each chapter to test students knowledge of the basic concepts along with their critical thinking ability.
