What is Adobe InDesign?
Adobe InDesign is a higher-end desktop publishing alternative to Adobe's PageMaker application. InDesign can export documents in Adobe's Portable Document Format, offers multilingual support and is a tool to be used for design and layout purposes. InDesign is the perfect choice for making any document that needs some creative layout, from posters to newspapers. It offers many features to modify text and images, which work together to create unique and professional designs.
InDesign supports Unicode for text processing and the advanced typography of OpenType fonts. Its has advanced transparency features, and it features tight integration with other Adobe products as well as a similar user interface to Adobe's Illustrator and Photoshop programs. InDesign is good for designing articles, short documents, posters, and other print media, but it has a few web/PDF features too. Books and longer documents are usually designed using Adobe FrameMaker.
