What is Microsoft Excel?
Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program that lets you manage data
in rows and columns. This is the most widely used spreadsheet in the world.
Excel is used to format, arrange, sort and calculate data to perform "what if"
calculations. What if the interest rate went up one percent? Just enter the
new percentage rate and Excel will calculate the new totals.
Once your data is in place, Excel helps you extract it in useful forms such as
printouts, charts and graphs. Use Excel's advanced print features to control
what portions are printed, page layout and print size.
Finally, let Excel do the work for you with automated features. Use Excel's autofill,
autosum and autoformat features to do the work for you. Use Excel's built-in formulas
and functions, or write custom functions to return correct figures. Using Excel for your
spreadsheets ensures that your data is accurate and professional.
