Blue Star Learning is seeking an experienced candidate for the role of Network Administrator for planning designing, configuring, maintaining, monitoring and improving the systems networks and firewalls. This position requires the candidate to work closely with the Network Security Team to ensure the organization’s systems are running efficiently and up to the standards of Senior Management.

Job Description
  • Maintain a superior level of knowledge of server/client operating systems and various application software considered essential for business
  • Install/configure/test/troubleshoot servers and applications running on the servers
  • Participate in meetings, providing input and suggestions
  • Ensure efficient and economical utilization of equipment and resources
  • Assist in providing accurate inventory and safekeeping of equipment, parts and supplies
  • Maintain all hardware which includes but is not limited to laptops, desktops, servers, printers, mobile devices, switches, etc.
  • Notify vendors when equipment needs to be repaired and/or obtain vendor return authorizations while keeping records
  • Routinely update all documentation as it relates to Network Administrator
  • Perform backups of the company’s data and verify the backups are valid
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance for computer, data communication, and/or peripheral equipment; test and adjust to appropriate standards
  • Responsible to come in as needed if the company’s system are experiencing critical issues that may impact the company’s business
  • Keep IT Management informed on all IT related information that may impact the company’s business
Required Skills
  • 5+ years’ experience in computer related field
  • Comp TIA A+, Network+ and Security+ certifications
  • Microsoft Certified Professional
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization as well as in teams as needed
  • Desire and willingness to learn new technologies as dictated by the organization’s management and the needs of the organization’s business model
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and pay close attention to detail
